FootNotes™ has made print again. This time in International Musician Magazine, June ‘09 issue. International Musician Magazine is the trade publication for musicians who belong to the American Federation of Musicians (AFM). In other words, the musicians union. Unfortunately, if you’re not a member of the musicians union, you can’t get the magazine, nor can you view the article on their website. Membership does have its perks. I’m in the process of getting permission to post the full article on this website, so stay tuned. FootNotes™ is on it’s way!

An article, entitled “Writing Dance” was written by Catherine Massey, and appears in Dancer Magazine (www.danceruniverse.com) April/May ‘09 issue. Catherine talks about 3 forms of written notation for tap dance, and FootNotes™ is one of the forms she talks about. Because the article is not published on the Dancer Magazine website, I’ve made an excerpt of the article available here.
